Ould Merzoug Describes Two Decades of African-Turkish Partnership as Satisfactory

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Executive Council of the African Union, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, described the results of two decades of African-Turkish partnership as “generally satisfactory.”
This statement was made during his speech at the opening of the Third African-Turkish Ministerial Review Conference, held in Djibouti, with the attendance of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The Foreign Minister stated that the “sincere will” of the parties involved had enabled the creation of a strong bridge of communication and exchange that guarantees the interests of all parties and responds to their aspirations.
He added, “There is no doubt that the periodic evaluation meetings organized by the two sides have played a significant role in assessing imbalances and rationalizing joint efforts.”
The conference will discuss issues related to the 2022-2026 Joint Action Plan of the African-Turkish partnership, along with perspectives on peace, security, governance, investment, education, youth, health, and infrastructure.
